September 1998 sind in der EU Lebensmittel, die aus GVO hergestellt wurden bzw. GVO enthalten, kennzeichnungspflichtig. Seit April 2004 und Inkrafttreten der EU-Verordnung 1829\/2003 ist die Kennzeichnung f\u00fcr Lebens- und Futtermittel ab einem GVO-Gehalt von 0,9 % gesetzlich vorgeschrieben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Genmodifizierte Pflanzen (GVO oder GMO) sind mengenm\u00e4\u00dfig im Wesentlichen Soja, Mais, Raps und (nicht als Lebensmittel verwendete) Baumwolle. Weitere Pflanzenarten k\u00f6nnen ebenfalls GVO enthalten, spielen aber bisher im weltweiten Anbau nur eine untergeordnete Rolle. Die Nachweise, ob Pflanzen \u00fcberhaupt genmodifiziert sind, erfolgt \u00fcber das Screening von nat\u00fcrlicherweise nicht in Pflanzen vorkommenden DNA-Sequenzen (35S, NOS, FMV und weitere). Mit diesem Screening werden fast alle GVO-Pflanzen erfasst. Allerdings sind neue GVO-Pflanzen (z. B. Soja) auf den Markt gekommen, die keine solchen Sequenzen aufweisen und daher im Screening nicht erfasst werden. F\u00fcr diese Sojapflanzen wurden separate real-time PCR Kits entwickelt, die wie die vorhandenen SureFood\u00ae GMO ID Kits verwendet werden k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kennzeichnung gentechnikfreier Lebensmittel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Qualit\u00e4t der Lebensmittel wird vielen Verbrauchern und Verbraucherinnen immer wichtiger. Viele achten beim Einkauf vermehrt auf Bio-Siegel oder das Siegel \u201cohne Gentechnik\u201d des Verband Lebensmittel ohne Gentechnik (VLOG e.V.). Dieses Siegel soll sicherstellen, dass gentechnisch ver\u00e4nderte Produkte \u00fcber die gesamte Lebensmittelproduktion weitestgehend ausgeschlossen wurden. Um das Siegel tragen zu k\u00f6nnen, m\u00fcssen bestimmte Voraussetzungen erf\u00fcllt werden, unter anderem in Bezug auf die Analytik. Die SureFood\u00ae GMO Kits erf\u00fcllen die Bedingungen hierf\u00fcr. Einige der SureFood\u00ae GMO Kits wurden zu diesem Zweck angepasst und ein neuer Zusatzkit (Art. Nr. Daher sind f\u00fcr diese Produkte derzeit rein qualitative Tests von Interesse. Die Detektionsgrenze liegt je nach Matrix und Verarbeitung bei 0,01 %. F\u00fcr Futtermittel gilt mit der EC 619\/2011 eine gesonderte Regel. Sofern bestimmte Bedingungen erf\u00fcllt sind (abgelaufene Zulassung EU, Zulassung im Ursprungsland, Verf\u00fcgbarkeit von Tests und Referenzmaterial, etc.) gilt ein technischer Schwellenwert f\u00fcr nicht zugelassene GMO-Events von 0,1 %. Dies ist insbesondere f\u00fcr den nicht immer kontaminationsfreien Import von GMO und GMO-freien Mais und Soja von Bedeutung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quantitativer GVO-Nachweis<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>F\u00fcr jeweils zugelassene GMO\u2019s stellt sich die quantitative Frage, ob das Produkt \u00fcber definierten Schwellenwerten oder kennzeichnungspflichtigen Werten liegt. In Europa gilt ein Wert von 0,9 % von dem GMO-Event in der jeweiligen Pflanzenmatrix. Bis zu diesem Wert m\u00fcssen Lebensmittel mit technisch unvermeidbarer und zuf\u00e4lliger Kontaminationen des GMO-Events nicht gekennzeichnet werden (EC 2829\/2003 und EC2830\/EC). Die Quantifizierung erfolgt \u00fcber die jeweilige Quantifizierung von GMO-spezifischem und von Pflanzenmatrix-spezifischem Gen anhand je einer unterschiedlichen Eichgerade und der Umrechnung von GMO-DNA-Kopienzahl\/Pflanzenmatrix-DNA-Kopienzahl. Diese dimensionslose Einheit, mit 100 multipliziert, ergibt einen prozentualen Wert.
