L\u2019etichettatura del sesamo \u00e8 obbligatoria nell\u2019Unione europea, in Canada e in Australia.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019allergia al sesamo \u00e8 attualmente in crescita, perch\u00e9 il consumo di sesamo \u00e8 aumentato di pari passo con la consapevolezza degli stili di vita e alimentari salutistici. Il sesamo \u00e8 inoltre spesso usato nelle diete vegetariane. Esso pu\u00f2 causare gravi sintomi da allergia come lo shock anafilattico. L\u2019unica misura efficace per proteggere i pazienti sensibili dai sintomi allergici \u00e8 evitare del tutto i cibi contenenti sesamo. Nell\u2019Unione europea, in Canada e in Australia il sesamo deve comparire in etichetta sugli alimenti preconfezionati, dove \u00e8 incluso nell\u2019elenco delle principali sostanze che provocano allergie. Ad oggi, sette diverse proteine del sesamo sono state identificate come allergeni (Ses i 1-7). Il metodo pi\u00f9 efficace per proteggere i soggetti sensibilizzati consiste nell\u2019evitare del tutto gli alimenti contenenti sesamo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il sesamo pu\u00f2 essere presente in vari prodotti alimentari come i prodotti da forno, le miscele per panificazione, i biscotti, il cioccolato o i dessert. Nei siti produttivi gli alimenti contenenti sesamo e quelli privi passano per le stesse catene di lavorazione.
