De identificatie van virussen is een belangrijk onderdeel van voedselveiligheids-management en kan worden uitgevoerd met moleculaire biologische systemen, bijvoorbeeld de zeer specifieke real-time PCR-kits van de SureFast\u00ae PATHOGEN productlijn.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"acf-block block-tabs block-virusestab1\"><div class=\"block-tabs__menu\"><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-virusestab1-1',  'block-virusestab1')\" class=\"block-tabs__title active \">Hepatitis A<\/button><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-virusestab1-2',  'block-virusestab1')\" class=\"block-tabs__title  \">Influenza<\/button><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-virusestab1-3',  'block-virusestab1')\" class=\"block-tabs__title  \">Norovirus<\/button><\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__area\"><div class=\"block-tabs__content active tab-virusestab1-1\"><p>Het Hepatitis A-virus kan ernstige infecties veroorzaken. Het voornaamste kenmerk van de ziekte is infectie van de lever, met symptomen als gastro-intestinale klachten, koorts of huiduitslag. De ziekte wordt voornamelijk overgebracht door besmet drinkwater (zelfs ijsblokjes), besmette voeding (voornamelijk mosselen, oesters, fruit en groenten) of door een smeerinfectie.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__content  tab-virusestab1-2\"><p>Sinds de uitbraak van de vogelgriep (ook bekend als aviaire influenza of HPAI) door het H5N8-virus, staat influenza weer volop in de belangstelling. Naast H5 zijn influenza-subtypes als H7 en H9 belangrijk. Niet alle influenza-subtypes zijn pathogeen voor de mens; veel subtypes kunnen echter leiden tot ernstige ziekten bij dieren, bijvoorbeeld kippen en varkens, en daarmee tot forse economische verliezen. Daarom is het zeer belangrijk om te screenen op de verschillende Influenzavirussen<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__content  tab-virusestab1-3\"><p>Norovirussen zijn verantwoordelijk voor meer dan 90 % van de gevallen van niet-bacteri\u00eble gastro-enteritis, omdat ze in de omgeving extreem stabiel zijn. In het bijzonder in gemeenschappelijke voorzieningen, zoals ziekenhuizen, verpleeghuizen en andere gezondheidszorgfaciliteiten, kunnen Norovirussen uitbraken van gastro-enteritis veroorzaken met aanzienlijke potenti\u00eble gezondheidsrisico\u2019s. Symptomen van een Norovirus-ziekte omvatten braken, diarree en misselijkheid. De ziekten kunnen gedurende het hele jaar tot ontwikkeling komen. Maar in de wintermaanden kan het aantal ziektegevallen fors toenemen. Vandaar dat in Engelstalige landen ook wordt gesproken van de \u2018winter vomiting disease\u2019 (winterbraakziekte). De ziekte kan direct van mens op mens worden overgedragen of indirect via besmette ruimten, voorwerpen, voeding (bijv. mosselen, vruchten en groenten) of water.
