Als gevolg van foutief of illegaal gebruik kunnen er residuen aanwezig zijn in voeding van dierlijke oorsprong zoals vlees of melk, die een direct gezondheidsrisico vormen voor consumenten. Bovendien kan het binnendringen van hormonaal actieve stoffen in het oppervlakte- en grondwater via de mest, invloed hebben op aquatische ecosystemen. Door het drinken van water en het eten van vis, kunnen hormoonresiduen opnieuw in de voedselketen terechtkomen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In de Europese Unie is het gebruik van hormonen en anabole stero\u00efden als groeibevorderende stoffen bij het fokken van dieren volledig verboden en er wordt toegezien op de naleving van dit verbod in controleprogramma\u2019s met residumonitoring (richtlijnen 96\/22\/EC, 2008\/97\/EC en 2003\/74\/EC). Het therapeutische gebruik van bepaalde hormonen is voor veterinaire doeleinden echter toegestaan. In tegenstelling daarmee kunnen hormonen en anabolen buiten Europa legaal worden gebruikt als vetmestmiddel, omdat de lokale autoriteiten het gebruik ervan als risicovrij inschatten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Androgenen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Androgenen zijn natuurlijke of synthetische stero\u00efdhormonen die de ontwikkeling en instandhouding van mannelijke kenmerken stimuleren of reguleren door binding aan androgeenreceptoren. De groep van androgenen bevat veel synthetische moleculen naast het natuurlijke testosteron. Als dieren worden behandeld met androgenen, kunnen er geneesmiddelresiduen in het vlees en de melk van het dier achterblijven. Onze testsystemen kunnen androgeenresiduen op betrouwbare wijze detecteren.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"acf-block block-tabs block-hormonestabs1\"><div class=\"block-tabs__menu\"><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-hormonestabs1-1',  'block-hormonestabs1')\" class=\"block-tabs__title active \">Testosteron<\/button><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-hormonestabs1-2',  'block-hormonestabs1')\" class=\"block-tabs__title  \">Methyltestosteron<\/button><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-hormonestabs1-3',  'block-hormonestabs1')\" class=\"block-tabs__title  \">19-nortestosteron<\/button><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-hormonestabs1-4',  'block-hormonestabs1')\" class=\"block-tabs__title  \">Trenbolon<\/button><\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__area\"><div class=\"block-tabs__content active tab-hormonestabs1-1\"><p>Testosteron is een natuurlijk mannelijk stero\u00efdhormoon dat de ontwikkeling en instandhouding van mannelijke kenmerken stimuleert. Vanwege het illegale gebruik als hulpmiddel voor het vetmesten van vee, is bijvoorbeeld in het Duitse residucontroleplan de wettelijk vereiste detectiegrens in runderplasma voor HPLC-SP en GC-MS lager dan 0,1 \u03bcg\/kg (ppb). Voor screeningdoeleinden kan de gevoelige en kosteneffectieve RIDASCREEN ELISA worden gebruikt. De toepassing van deze methode in runderplasma heeft een detectiegrens van 0,02 \u00b5g\/kg. De incubatietijd van deze test is 2 uur en 30 min., wat een hoge throughput en een snelle respons mogelijk maakt.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__content  tab-hormonestabs1-2\"><p>De anabole effecten van methyltestosteron (17\u03b1-methyltestosteron) zijn vergelijkbaar met die van testosteron, dat een natuurlijk mannelijk geslachtshormoon is. Methyltestosteron is een synthetisch stero\u00efdhormoon en wordt illegaal gebruikt als testosteronmiddel voor het vetmesten van vee. Bovendien wordt het vaak door viskwekers gebruikt voor sekseomkering om snelgroeiende volledig mannelijke populaties te verkrijgen voor economisch gewin. Het ELISA-systeem is een snelle en kosteneffectieve screeningmethode voor overheidsinstanties en laboratoria om misbruik van methyltestosteron te controleren. Ter bevestiging zijn fysicochemische methoden als HPLC en GC\/MS toepasbaar. In de meeste EG-landen wordt urine gekozen als de matrix voor controle op de aanwezigheid van ethinyloestradiol of andere anabole stero\u00efden.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__content  tab-hormonestabs1-3\"><p>Het anabole stero\u00efd 19-nortestosteron is een van de meest aangetroffen groeibevorderaars. De anabole effecten van 19-nortestosteron zijn vergelijkbaar met die van testosteron, maar met minder androgene effecten. In Duitsland zijn 19-nortestosteron-decanoaat en -laureaat toegestaan voor veterinair gebruik in gedefinieerde toepassingen. Maar het illegale gebruik van 19-nortestosteron als dopingmiddel in veeleisende sporten of de paardensport komt veel meer voor. Enkele jaren geleden werd het toegenomen gebruik van illegale cocktails als hulpmiddel voor het vetmesten van kalveren gemeld. Deze cocktails bevatten gewoonlijk een 19-nortestosteron-ester. Speciaal bij mannelijke varkens en drachtige koeien kan endogeen 19-nortestosteron worden gedetecteerd.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__content  tab-hormonestabs1-4\"><p>Trenbolon is een xenobiotisch, effici\u00ebnt anabool stero\u00efd met sterke androgene activiteit. Genotoxische activiteit van deze stof wordt vermoed, maar is nog niet wetenschappelijk bewezen. Trenbolon in verhoogde concentraties leidde echter tot celtransformatie in een test met embryonale cellen van de goudhamster, en reageerde zwak positief in de Ames-test. Om zijn effectieve halfwaardetijd te verhogen, wordt trenbolon toegediend als een esterconjugaat zoals trenbolonacetaat. Plasmalipasen splitsen de estergroep dan af in de bloedstroom waarbij vrije trenbolon overblijft. Het gebruikt van deze verbinding om de spiergroei en eetlust in de veefokkerij te verhogen, is in de EU verboden. Voor een hoge throughput van screeningmonsters is het ELISA-testsysteem een uitstekende test die met allerlei matrices kan worden gebruikt.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Oestrogenen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Oestrogenen (of estrogenen) zijn primaire vrouwelijke geslachtshormonen die een belangrijke rol spelen in de regulering van veel fysiologische processen van het reproductieve systeem, zoals ovulatie, fertilisatie, embryo-implantatie en lactatie. Ze kunnen synthetisch worden geproduceerd en worden als geneesmiddel gebruikt. Sommige oestrogenen worden als stero\u00efden gebruikt. Wanneer dieren worden behandeld met oestrogenen, kunnen het vlees en de melk van het dier geneesmiddelresiduen bevatten. Onze betrouwbare testsystemen kunnen oestrogeenresiduen detecteren.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"acf-block block-tabs block-hormonestabs-2\"><div class=\"block-tabs__menu\"><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-hormonestabs-2-1',  'block-hormonestabs-2')\" class=\"block-tabs__title active \">Di-ethylstilbestrol (DES)<\/button><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-hormonestabs-2-2',  'block-hormonestabs-2')\" class=\"block-tabs__title  \">17\u00df-oestradiol<\/button><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-hormonestabs-2-3',  'block-hormonestabs-2')\" class=\"block-tabs__title  \">Ethinyloestradiol<\/button><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-hormonestabs-2-4',  'block-hormonestabs-2')\" class=\"block-tabs__title  \">Zeranol<\/button><\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__area\"><div class=\"block-tabs__content active tab-hormonestabs-2-1\"><p>Di-ethylstilbestrol (DES) en hexestrol zijn stoffen uit de groep van stilbenen. De stilbenen zijn zeer effici\u00ebnte anabole stero\u00efden met bovendien een sterke oestrogene activiteit. DES be\u00efnvloedt de gewichtstoename en de voederomzet-effici\u00ebntie als het wordt toegediend aan dieren die gebruikt worden voor de vleesproductie. Deze verschijnselen zijn waargenomen bij rundvee, kippen en lammeren. Het gebruik van anabole geneesmiddelen voor deze doeleinden is sinds 1986 in de EU verboden. Het gebruik van DES is in alle landen speciaal verboden vanwege de carcinogene eigenschappen. Voor de analyse van anabole stero\u00efden zijn HPLC en GC\/MS beschreven als fysicochemische methoden. Immunologische testen zoals RIA of EIA worden zeer vaak gebruikt als screeningmethoden.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__content  tab-hormonestabs-2-2\"><p>17\u00df-oestradiol is een natuurlijk geslachtshormoon. De niveaus van 17\u03b2-oestradiol in runderplasma van perifeer bloed zijn zeer laag. Bij kalveren is niet meer dan 1\u20132 pg\/ml aanwezig en bij volgroeide vrouwelijke dieren varieert de concentratie van 17\u03b2-oestradiol in de cyclus van 1 tot 5 pg\/ml. Alleen in het plasma van drachtige dieren of in het plasma van dieren die illegaal zijn behandeld met anabole middelen, kunnen niveaus worden aangetroffen van 100 tot 1000 pg\/ml.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__content  tab-hormonestabs-2-3\"><p>Ethinyloestradiol is een synthetisch geslachtshormoon dat, net als alle andere natuurlijke of synthetische stero\u00efdhormonen, sinds 1988 in de Europese Gemeenschap verboden is als groeibevorderaar bij het vetmesten van vee. Het ELISA-systeem is een snelle en kosteneffectieve screeningmethode om misbruik van ethinyloestradiol te controleren. In de meeste EG-landen wordt urine gekozen als de matrix voor controle op de aanwezigheid van ethinyloestradiol of andere anabole stero\u00efden.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__content  tab-hormonestabs-2-4\"><p>Het oestrogene anabole middel zeranol (a-zearalanol) is afgeleid van het mycotoxine zearalenon. Het wordt gebruikt om de gemiddelde dagelijkse toename levend gewicht in herkauwers te verhogen en de effici\u00ebntie van de voedselconversie te verbeteren. Maar deze verbinding is niet goedgekeurd als groeibevorderaar bij het vetmesten van vee in de EU. De synthetische verbinding zeranol heeft ongeveer driemaal zoveel oestrogene activiteit als zearalenon. Naast de anabole effecten veroorzaakt zeranol de klinische symptomen van hyperoestrogenisme, met name verminderde vruchtbaarheid en ontwikkelingsstoornissen. Het is dus niet onmogelijk na illegaal gebruik dat zeranolresiduen in eetbare weefsels een gezondheidsrisico vormen voor consumenten.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gestagenen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Gestagenen (ook bekend als progestogenen of progestagenen) zijn vrouwelijke geslachtshormonen en een klasse van stero\u00efdhormonen. Ze worden soms gebruikt als groeibevorderaar bij vee. Wanneer dieren worden behandeld met gestagenen, kunnen het vlees en de melk van het dier geneesmiddelresiduen bevatten. Met onze testsystemen kunt u gestageenresiduen op betrouwbare wijze detecteren.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"acf-block block-tabs block-hormonestabs-3\"><div class=\"block-tabs__menu\"><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-hormonestabs-3-1',  'block-hormonestabs-3')\" class=\"block-tabs__title active \">Acetylgestagenen<\/button><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-hormonestabs-3-2',  'block-hormonestabs-3')\" class=\"block-tabs__title  \">Melengestrolacetaat <\/button><\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__area\"><div class=\"block-tabs__content active tab-hormonestabs-3-1\"><p>Medroxyprogesteronacetaat (MPA), 17\u03b1-acetoxyprogesteron, megestrolacetaat en chloormadinonacetaat behoren tot de groep van acetylgestagenen. Van acetylgestagenen is bekend dat ze de effici\u00ebntie van de dierproductie verhogen en ze zijn in het verleden gebruikt in illegale cocktails voor het vetmesten van kalveren. Deze stoffen zijn echter niet toegestaan als hulpmiddel voor het vetmesten van dieren. Sommige studies hebben aangetoond dat vetweefsel piekconcentraties van acetylgestageenresiduen kan bevatten. MPA kan bijvoorbeeld maar een paar dagen na toediening in plasma worden gedetecteerd en kan niet betrouwbaar worden gedetecteerd in urine. Na toediening van MPA aan kalveren kunnen hoge concentraties van niet-gemetaboliseerd MPA worden gedetecteerd in vet, zelfs na 19 dagen.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__content  tab-hormonestabs-3-2\"><p>Synthetische gestagenen kunnen worden gebruikt voor oestrusremming of -synchronisatie na abortus en voor verbetering van de vruchtbaarheid. Bovendien is een van deze stoffen, melengestrolacetaat (MLGA), een gelicentieerd groeibevorderend voederadditief voor vaarzen in de VS en Canada. De toegestane dosis is 0,5 mg per dag per dier, gegeven als een voedervoormix. De manier waarop de anabole werking plaatsvindt, is onduidelijk maar het stimuleert de ovari\u00eble synthese van het endogene anabole stero\u00efd oestradiol, dat androgene bijwerkingen kan hebben. MLGA behoort tot de actiefste synthetische gestagenen. De orale biologische activiteit is 10 tot 100 keer zo hoog als de activiteit van de gestagenen chloormadinonacetaat (CMA) of medroxyprogesteronacetaat (MPA). Als het parenteraal wordt toegediend is de hormonale activiteit van MLGA nog steeds 125 keer zo hoog als die van progesteron. Door zijn sterke lipofiele eigenschappen is de ophoping van MLGA in vet 200 keer zo groot als in bloedplasma. In de Europese unie is het gebruik van geslachtshormonen als groeibevorderaar sinds 1988 algemeen verboden, en ook de import van vlees van met hormonen behandeld vee is verboden in de EU.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u03b2-agonisten<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u03b2-agonisten zijn synthetische derivaten van de natuurlijk voorkomende catecholaminen. Ze worden als medicatie gebruikt. Wanneer dieren zijn behandeld met \u03b2-agonisten, kunnen het vlees en de melk van het dier geneesmiddelresiduen bevatten. Bekend is dat \u03b2-agonisten geschikt zijn voor gebruik als productieverbeteraars in de veeteelt. In het bijzonder kan de vlees-vetverhouding bij vetgemeste dieren worden verbeterd of kan de groei worden versneld. Dergelijke verbindingen zijn tot nu toe echter niet goedgekeurd in de EU voor gebruik als groeibevorderaar bij het vetmesten van vee. Naast de lipolytische en anabole effecten, hebben \u03b2-agonisten een relaxerend effect op niet-dwarsgestreept spierweefsel. Ze kunnen daarom worden gebruikt als anti-astmatische en tocolytische middelen. Het is mogelijk dat \u03b2-agonistenresiduen, na illegaal gebruik, een gezondheidsrisico vormen voor consumenten. Daarom werd het gebruik van \u03b2-agonisten in de voedingsproductie verboden.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"acf-block block-tabs block-hormonestabs-4\"><div class=\"block-tabs__menu\"><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-hormonestabs-4-1',  'block-hormonestabs-4')\" class=\"block-tabs__title active \">Clenbuterol<\/button><button onclick=\"openTab(event, 'tab-hormonestabs-4-2',  'block-hormonestabs-4')\" class=\"block-tabs__title  \">Ractopamine<\/button><\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__area\"><div class=\"block-tabs__content active tab-hormonestabs-4-1\"><p>Clenbuterol behoort tot de groep van \u03b2-agonisten. In vergelijking met therapeutische gebruik wordt clenbuterol in 5 tot 10 keer zo hoge doseringen toegediend wanneer het wordt gebruikt als groeibevorderaar bij het vetmesten van vee. Het is daarom mogelijk dat clenbuterolresiduen, na illegaal gebruik, een gezondheidsrisico vormen voor consumenten.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"block-tabs__content  tab-hormonestabs-4-2\"><p>Ractopamine behoort tot de groep van \u03b2-agonisten. Als productieverbeteraar in de veeteelt vermindert ractopamine het vet, verhoogt het de gemiddelde dagelijkse gewichtstoename en verbetert het de voederconversieverhouding (FCR: Feed Conversion Ratio) van vetgemeste dieren. Het is mogelijk dat ractopamine-residuen, na illegaal gebruik, een gezondheidsrisico vormen voor consumenten.
