Intended use
The SureFood® ALLERGEN Molluscs is a real-time PCR for the direct, qualitative and / or quantitative detection of specific molluscs (mollusca) DNA sequences according to directive (EC) 1169/2011 in food.
The kit was developed for the identification of mussels (Bivalvia), cephalopods (Cephalopodae) and aquatic and terrestrial snails (Gastropodae). The molluscs family contains 50,000 – 60,000 species. Due to the large number of different species a practical verification of all is impossible. More detailed information is available in the Validation Report of SureFood® ALLERGEN Molluscs.
General Information
The real-time PCR assay can be performed with commonly used real-time PCR instruments, equipped for detection of two fluorescence emissions at the channels FAM and VIC/HEX at the same time. The technical verification of instruments was performed on Agilent AriaDx, Bio-Rad CFX96 Dx, Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q, R-Biopharm RIDA®CYCLER, und Roche LightCycler® 480 II.
