Intended use
Enzytec™ Potassium is an enzymatic assay for the determination of Potassium in foodstuff and other sample materials.
General Information
The determination of Potassium by enzymatic way is through the use of a Pyruvate Kinase (PK) potassium-dependent, in the presence of phosphoenolpyruvate as substrate.
In a further reaction, catalyzed by a particular LDH, the pyruvate formed by the action of PK-K dependent is assayed in the presence of NADH.
The decrease of absorbance makes it possible to assess the concentration of potassium in the sample at 340 nm.
Plotting on the Calibration Curve absorbance values and concentrations for each single sample, may be determined the concentration of each sample.
