Intended use
The multiplex real-time PCR test detects the following DNA-sequences of genetically modified canola:
– FAM channel: MON88302 canola (OECD unique identifier MON-883Ø2-9)
– VIC channel: Canola
– ROX channel: DP73496 canola (OECD unique identifier DP-Ø73496-4)
– Cy5 channel: RF3 canola (OECD unique identifier ACS-BNØØ3-6)
The detections are according to the validated method of the European Commission.
General Information
The real-time PCR assay can be performed with commonly used real-time PCR instruments, equipped for detection of four fluorescence emissions at the channels FAM, VIC/HEX, ROX and Cy5 at the same time. The technical validation of instruments was performed on Agilent Mx3005P, Bio-Rad CFX96, Roche LightCycler® 480 II and R-Biopharm RIDA®CYCLER.

Sample preparation | For DNA-preparation of raw material the use of SureFood® PREP Basic (Art. No. S1052), SureFast® Mag PREP Food (Art. No. F1060) and for highly processed food and feed the use of SureFood® PREP Advanced (Art. No. S1053) is recommended. SureFood® PREP Add On (Art. Nr. S1055) is intended to be used for the extraction of DNA from raw materials as well as processed food and feed with sample weight of 2 g. It is used in conjunction with the SureFood® PREP Basic. |
LOD (Detection Limit) | The SureFood® GMO ID 4plex Canola II real-time PCR has a limit of detection of < 5 DNA copies. This is equivalent to approx. 0.01 % for unprocessed canola grain. |
