The multiplex test detects the following DNA-sequences of genetically modified canola:
– FAM channel: MON88302 canola (OECD unique identifier MON-883Ø2-9)
– ROX channel: DP73496 canola (OECD unique identifier DP-Ø73496-4)
– Cy5 channel: RF3 canola (OECD unique identifier ACS-BNØØ3-6)
The event specific GMO detection methods are according to the official method of the European Commission.
The real-time PCR assay can be used with established real-time PCR instruments, equipped for detection of four fluorescence emissions at 510 nm, 580 nm, 610 nm und 660 nm (FAM, VIC, ROX and Cy5) at the same time. The technical validation of instruments was performed on Roche LightCycler® 480 II*, Roche cobas® z 480 Analyzer*, Applied Biosystems 7500, Bio-Rad CFX96, AriaDx and Agilent Mx3005P.

|Sample preparation||For DNA-preparation of raw material the use of SureFood® PREP Basic and for highly processed food and feed the use of SureFood® PREP Advanced is recommended.|
|Detection limit||The SureFood® GMO ID 4plex Canola II assay has a limit of detection of < 5 DNA copies. The assay limit of detection depends on sample matrix, processing grade, DNA preparation and DNA content.|
The canola PCR system is specific for the Brassicacea family. That means samples with mustard are also detected in the canola channel.
