Vitamin analysis is big business and accurate measurement of vitamin levels in infant formula, nutritional supplements and other foods is critical to comply with labelling requirements.  Official methods based on classical microbiology are slow and in urgent need of updating, however immunoaffinity columns for analysis of vitamins offer a new future in this demanding area of analysis.

Immunoaffinity columns can be used to generate quality results however it should be noted that not all columns behave in the same way and performance can vary significantly.  This online presentation looks at how the antibodies, buffers and extraction method can have an impact on the results generated from an immunoaffinity column.
