Enzytec™ Liquid Combi Maltose/Sucrose/D-Glucose
Art. No. E8175
Product info
Intended use
UV assay for the determination of maltose, sucrose and D-glucose in foodstuffs and other sample materials.
General Information
Maltose, also known as malt sugar, is a disaccharide consisting of two glucose molecules. It is produced when starch is broken down and can be found in many foods such as beer, bread, potatoes and cereals. Maltose is particularly common in malt beer and other fermented products.
The analysis of maltose in food provides information about the sugar content and nutritional composition, which is particularly relevant for people with special dietary needs, such as diabetics, who need to monitor their sugar intake. In addition, the analysis can help to assess the quality and freshness of food, as the maltose content can be an indicator of starch degradation.
With the Enzytec™ Liquid Combi Maltose/Sucrose/D-Glucose (Art. No. E8175), we are introducing our first Combi test for the differentiated determination (25 each) of maltose, sucrose and D-glucose. All reagents are already included to enable analysis of the individual sugars in up to three parallel assays, so that the concentration of pure maltose can be determined in cereals, infant formula, baked goods, muesli bars, soft drinks, beer and meat, for example.
