Product info

Compact Dry LS

Art. No. HS8811 / HS8812

Intended use

Usage of Compact Dry LS is a simple and safe test procedure for quantification of Listeria contaminations in foods or raw materials – as well as pharmaceutical raw materials. The ready-to-use plates consist of a special 50 mm diameter petri dish containing a detection specific nutrient pad.

General Information

Listeria can be found in almost all areas of life. It is possible to assess the risk of contamination via quantitative detection to ensure that, if necessary, preventive measures can be taken. Listeria monocytogenes, in particular, is considered a major cause of food poisoning, possibly resulting in the development of sepsis, meningitis and encephalitis.

Compact Dry LS contains a standard nutrient medium for detection of Listeria spp. Due to the integrated chromogenic substances in the medium, Listeria grow as blue colonies with a diameter of between one and two millimeters. It is common knowledge that Listeria ivanovii grows very slowly and L. seeligeri is inhibited.

The ready-to-use, chromogenic Compact Dry plates are suitable for in-process controls as well as controls of finished products. With the optional additional product Promedia ST-25 swab test (Z0302) Compact Dry plates may also be used for surface sampling and therefore applied for quantitative hygiene monitoring even at surfaces which are difficult to reach.

Benefits:

  • Compact Dry LS is therefore an extremely easy-to-use method and also convincing due to the high time saving; a confirmation test is also not necessary.
