R-Biopharm christmas recipe

For those still looking for a delicious side dish for this year’s Christmas menu, our colleague Claire from R-Biopharm Rhone has just the thing: Christmas red cabbage with apple, orange and raisins. Fruity-sweet and softly cooked in the oven, the side dish will be the secret star of the Christmas dinner.


  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium red onion
  • 1 cooking apple
  • 1 orange
  • 75 g raisins
  • 1 medium red cabbage
  • 3 tbsp cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cloves
  • 35 ml port (optional)


  1. Melt the butter in a baking tray and fry the chopped onion until tender (don’t let it brown).
  2. Add the chopped apple, orange juice and zest, raisins, chopped cabbage and other ingredients. Mix well.
  3. Add 100 ml of water and cover tray with foil.
  4. Cook in oven at 150°C for 30 minutes until the cabbage is soft, sweet and sour. Check the seasoning.

This dish can also be cooked in advance and frozen.
