Intended use

EuroProxima Ethinylestradiol is a competitive enzyme immunoassay (ELISA) for screening and quantitative analysis of ethinylestradiol in tissue, plasma/serum and urine.

General Information

Ethinylestradiol is a synthetic sexual hormone which is, like all other natural or synthetic steroid hormones, prohibited for use as resource in fattening in the European Community since 1988. It is a synthetic alkylated estradiol with a 17α-ethinyl substitution. It has high estrogenic potency when administered orally and is often used as the estrogenic component in oral contraceptives.

Benefit

  • The sensitivity of this ELISA is far below the maximum residue limits as fixed by the European Union: 100 μg/kg (ppb) in fat and liver and 30 μg/kg in kidney
