A competitive enzyme immunoassay for screening and quantitative analysis of Lactoferrin in infant milk powder.
The Lactoferrin ELISA is used for the quantification of this bioactive bovine milk protein (80 kDa) in infant milk powder. Lactoferrin plays a key role in the defense mechanisms of lactating animals’ mammary glands.
In addition, lactoferrin is reported to be a natural antioxidant with numerous other functions, including anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer activities.
The Lactoferrin Fast ELISA is a competitive enzyme immunoassay based on antibodies directed against lactoferrin. The test is validated with infant milk powders from different sources.
