R-Biopharm’s validated SureFast® Listeria ONE 3plex real-time PCR test kit provides fast and reliable detection of Listeria spp. and Listeria monocytogenes in a wide range of foods (meat, dairy products, fish, vegetables, fruit) as well as environmental samples (rinse water, swabs, sponges).

According to REGULATION (EU) No 1169/2011, allergenic food ingredients must be declared to ensure consumer protection. R‑Biopharm’s SureFood® ALLERGEN Real-Time PCR kits enable highly specific detection of allergens such as nuts, soy, mustard, celery, fish, crustaceans, shellfish, and mollusks – even in strongly processed foods. Instead of targeting proteins, the tests detect a specific DNA sequence of the allergenic ingredient, ensuring exceptional accuracy and suitability for most processed food samples.

Real-time PCR supports screening, quantification, and multiplex analyses, allowing multiple parameters to be detected in a single run. Simplified and standardized workflows enable high sample throughput and reduce time and costs. The method is also ideal for confirmation testing and advanced species identification, for example to determine which gluten-containing cereal is present (SureFood® ALLERGEN 4plex Cereals)

Multiplex PCR kits allow the simultaneous detection of multiple target organisms in a single test run. This helps laboratories save time, reagents, and sample material while increasing testing efficiency. R‑Biopharm provides a wide range of multiplex PCR test kits, including solutions for detecting allergens (SureFood® ALLERGEN 4plex), identifying animal species (SureFood® ANIMAL ID), screening for GMOs/GVOs (SureFood® GMO SCREEN), and analyzing bacteria and viruses (SureFast® Microbiology).

R‑Biopharm’s SureFast® ONE real-time PCR kits for the detection of Listeria, Salmonella, and STEC  are MicroVal‑validated (according to ISO 16140‑2) and/or AOAC‑validated (https://www.aoac.org/), and are therefore officially recognized for routine food analysis.

Genetically modified plants such as soy, maize, rapeseed, and cotton are widely cultivated, making reliable GMO testing essential. In the EU, all foods containing GMOs must be labeled, with a threshold of 0.9% for food and feed (defined by EC 1829/2003 and EC 1830/2003). R-Biopharms SureFood® GMO real-time PCR mutliplex screening kits provide a fast and efficient way to detect any genetically modified material by targeting gene sequences introduced during modification. If screening indicates GMO presence, identification tests determine which specific GMO events are involved, including non approved events that often require highly sensitive detection down to about 0.01%. For approved GMO events, quantitative analysis establishes whether the GMO content exceeds the EU labeling threshold; below 0.9%, unavoidable contamination does not require declaration. The workflow is user friendly thanks to standardized sample preparation, qPCR setup, and thermal profiles. Extracted DNA can be used for additional analyses such as allergen testing, and simultaneous qPCR analysis of GMO and allergen samples increases efficiency and reduces handling time.

R‑Biopharm’s SureFood® ANIMAL ID multiplex real-time PCR kits are ideal for animal species identification to uncover food fraud and adulteration for example. Interest in animal species identification in meat products is also driven by religious requirements, including halal and kosher certifications. Religious inspections, especially those focused on detecting pork in meat or processed foods, do not permit technical threshold values and therefore require purely qualitative, highly sensitive testing methods. Real-time PCR is widely used for this purpose because of its high sensitivity and specificity. However, its performance depends on the presence of intact DNA, which can be difficult to detect in highly processed products such as gelatin. For these challenging matrices, SureFood® ANIMAL ID Pork SENS is an ideal solution, offering an exceptional limit of detection of 0.0001 %.

SureFood® and SureFast® real-time PCR kits from R-Biopharm are compatible with all common block and rotor cyclers that support the following detection channels: FAM, VIC/HEX, ROX, and Cy5.
